Iba Hirohito
伊庭 広人
statement
When I feel alive, I can easily visualize the composition.
“Life” is reflected in the picture and “the act of painting” asks its own questions.
A new era dawns.
This era and daily life combine to become art. My spiritual state comes face to face with this time.
My work is not something disposable, a fad nor is it just for entertainment. It is something which leaves its mark in time.
For the rest of my life I am dedicated to the expression of truth, virtue and beauty through my work.
Our time floats dangerously by.
If we tread too tentatively through life, we cannot but feel a sense of crisis with each passing day. However, it is in this state that art is born and the spirit formed. It is full of what should be appreciated and the beauty which should be loved.
The rest is left to the heavens and therein lies the freedom to achieve a calmness of mind. There is neither uneasiness nor regret nor impatience, all are accepted. There is the freedom to continue one’s journey with a sense stillness and readiness.
Difficulty can be transformed into energy and so I am able to choose to laugh at and dive into that uncertainty. Light always shows us the way.
My instinct drives me to paint and as the image and form appear, I start asking what the essence of this painting is and the desire to answer this question provides the impulse to continue to paint.
My ambition is that my work will stand the test of time and will transcend borders to become a source of courage, hope and inspiration to all those who are dedicated to society.
